what I am

Freshly graduated from Industrial Design Engineering in 1998, I jumped into the field of interface design. I worked in Tokyo for four years as an interaction designer. Together with Femke Bijlsma I’ve designed all kinds of interactive installations, often aided by my brother Wouter, a furniture designer. Coming back to the Netherlands my focus shifted back to designing physical products like science kits. I’ve been teaching physics experiments and doing workshops with elementary school kids. Since 2005 I’ve been a part-time teacher at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where I’m teaching all sorts of design courses. I’m often helping artists with technical issues.
These days I’m focussing on inventing educational toys, made with limited and reused resources.
